This is my local hardware team where I am always greeted with a smile (well maybe a bit of a giggle too today, but they know who  I am and what I am about)  I especially love it when they hold “LADIES NIGHTS”, a lot of fun and very informative nights with a lot of champagne flowing!!

Be on the look out for the next one!

I dusted off AUDREY from my collection (you can view the collection HERE) for this trip to town and a fab fascinator I made from a men’s tie and loads of feathers!

They are very supportive of charities you can donate HERE

Frocktober Day 15 – polished from Tip to Toe!!

Dear Diary,

I know I polished myself up before I left, but I didn’t have time to get my awful nails sorted – I am a shameful beauty therapist ( that is my trade) but you know what they say about mechanic’s cars….

On our walk the other night we passed this funky little shop and hubby took the number and shouted me a mani-pedi – the first in a VERY LONG TIME

Tip to Toe – House of Polish

You can find them on facebook and in the mainstreet of Dunsborough Western Australia

Thanks Krysten and Zoe, it was pure pleasure, and my nails look fab

Image

Well, a lot of time was taken to get my nails perfect so we had a late start, we decided to just head over to Busselton for some ‘thrifty’ shopping – our fave kind ( I scored some beauties to work on to make some special upcycled pieces, no doubt you will see them soon)- at some op shops and just have a wander over the jetty…..

I did some donating of my own today for Breast cancer, you can help out with Ovarian cancer by donating HERE

PS. I hope you have penciled in the 1st of November!  I have jagged some more of my “favourite things” to come along and help me celebrate, we are in for a fun day.

Frocktober Day 10 – A polish up for my week away with my Hubby

Dear Diary,

Well, on Saturday, Hubby and I are off for a week to relax while the kids have a fun with Nanna and Grandad at our house, so a second honeymoon I guess….woohoo!!

But first, I needed some primping to fix the regrowth in my hair and do something about my blindly white skin.  I really need some hand and feet overhaulin’ too, but have run out of time so I will treat myself while down south.

I really did not think things through when I chose my frock today, I am LOVING my ROXANNE dress from my collection (you can read all the details about Roxanne here….

https://obsessivecreativedesign.wordpress.com/2013/09/30/my-name-is-tallulah-and-roxanne-2/)

Wearing a natural coloured dress to get a tan was not a good idea, and what was I thinking with wearing boots (doh) so because I was rushing out the door and running late for my appointment, I forgot to grab some cash and had to be caught down the main street in my dress…..that is it….no bra and no shoes so I didn’t mess up my tan – I guess people here are getting quite used to my dress sense!!

Thankyou Kate for my tan, I didn’t mess it up, she really does a great job I will have to keep my colour up this year!

Then it was off to get my hair coloured with Tammy

Foils – always a good look while it is curing

See Mum and James….I am relaxing!!

Image

Looking rather sleepy after my head massage, it is always nice to spend time getting your hair done with such lovely company, thank you Ashlee for taking the photos!

….and thanks Mum for looking after the kids….I had better go get them

Image

Miss D is the only one that comes running to come see me now, the others are occupied

Image

Now I have to go soak the tan out of my dress LOL

When I get back I will be throwing myself into organising a fabulous luncheon to celebrate Frocktober so save this date – 1st November – more details to come

I am in holiday mode already….

Day 4 Frocktober – A lovely day for a stroll……

Dear Diary,

Miss D and I decided to take a stroll today, all be it at the back of the farm, so we jumped in the car and took off to my favourite place where it is so peaceful and stress free.

Dressed up in our Frocktober best – Twiggy dress from

and a little upcycled number called KELLY (which Miss D is rocking) made from a ladies lace top and a mans business shirt, we set off to check how the crops are growing, and I must say, they are looking great!

So much better than the miserable year we all had last year, the weather has really been on our side, so hopefully that makes for some very happy farmers out here by the end of harvest!

It’s so beautiful out here, I am so grateful of our decision to come back home to the country after some tough years away.

It is so peaceful and I love watching all the seasons fly by, from this time of year – watching the crops grow (sometimes you can even hear them grow, it is so quiet), to the bustle of harvest and all of the hard working harvesters out there when the weather is warm and balmy.  My favourite time of year would have to be seeding time though, the smell of freshly turned earth and the intense colours of bright blue sky, green trees and rich brown fertile land.  I swear, my eyes have been turned on since coming home and I see things so much more brightly and these walks intensify it more when you have time to breath it all in (that is until the flies get too bad and you breath them in too, only a small hazard which is really quite insignificant to me in the scale of things)

Better get home and get some dinner on, the older kids can come next time, get them off their butts and enjoying the sunshine.  Now to get this gate closed so the sheep don’t have a “field day” in here…..

Don’t forget about donating while we are feeling relaxed and calm to remember that while we are living quite a blessed life, there are others suffering and we can all do something, no matter how small, to make others lives easier.

Day 2 Frocktober….One of those days……

Dear Diary, Aarrggghhhh, had to get some chores done around the farm today and it ended up being ‘one of those days’. Mum came over for a coffee and brought a big lot of chook scraps, she really does love all the animals out here, bringing gifts, in food form, for all of them. What is usually a straight forward easy job turned into a series of unfortunate events.

OCD collection frocktober Maz frocktober Maz

While we were there, Hubby’s boss rocked up to check the sheep and our dog being the friendly dog that she is, went over to greet his dogs on his ute, so to make it easier for everyone, I ran over to grab her and tie her up so she was out of the way…… Wearing heels really are a hazard out here……. Maz collection OCD

Jumping the knee high fence (that really doesn’t keep the sheep where they are supposed to be) proved to be a bit harder than normal when you have an audience, this happened right in front of Hubby’s boss and it is the second time he has come over and found me lying in the middle of a paddock…….what does he think…….oh well, hahaha There was nothing I could do to make it look like it was deliberate so I just lay there and laugh and Mum snapped away with the camera she hides behind all the time. I got up, rather embarrassed and ran our dog over to get her out of the way, but on the way back to get Miss D from the chook shed…..I DID IT AGAIN!!!! No one saw it this time, so it didn’t happen. And, just to round off a perfect day….The chooks got into the eggs we collected and destroyed half of them!

frocktober 068

Oh well, a few less eggs for Hubby’s breakfast tomorrow So, day 2 had me dusting up my MAZ dress from my collection and the killer boots………… So is this enough to earn a few donations for Ovarian Cancer research?? You can donate here.

A glimpse into my life with FROCKTOBER

Dear Diary,

Today is the first day of FROCKTOBER and I am all set to wear a frock a day for ovarian cancer awareness…..although, it is not too hard for me to wear a dress everyday so I decided to put some pressure on myself (what’s new lol) and make every dress Miss G, Miss D and myself wear….although Master J would love to get involved…..the foot has firmly been put down by his Dad, “he will not be wearing a dress” hehe.

I am still furiously sewing today to  get the rest of my upcycled dresses finished, they have all been begging for my attention in their half finished state for a while now and I can feel their happiness while I pick up each one!

This purple one I have set aside for a lovely trip out with the kids on the school holidays and you will see the Tulle skirt soon on Miss G as part of the little girls collection I am working on.

So here I am  in my most used room (lucky I love it so much, I spend so much time in here), with a very tired little helper,  in my Donna skirt and Vicki top from My Collection

I would love to get your support
