The Secrets of the Forest (with a lace addiction!)

Are you Ready???? Are you ready for this?

Well ready or not, here it is….

My little wood nymphs, styling up the wintery forest, clad in lace, tulle and stripes!!
What an absolutely dreamy day we had playing around amongst waterfalls, fog and a sprinkling of rain, and this is the results of our hard work……

As you may have guessed, I am a vintage girl through and through and there are many eras of vintage in this collection, also with a hint of oriental – another passion of mine.
The inspiration came from retro ’80’s glam, right back to art deco chic.
And how impressive is the doll inspired hair and make up, fantastic modelling and Awesome photography from the most wonderful team of experts and friends I have ever worked with, everything all works together so beautifully that when we were shooting this, I was in tears, felt immense pride of all involved and so privileged to be a part of it.

So……. if you like what you see, and would love one of these pieces for yourself, then here is how ordering will go…..
These are my base designs, my concept is ‘every girl deserves a bit of individuality without having to pay a hefty price’, so when you choose your design, you will then work with me to choose colour, fabric and individual touches to end up with your very own original design, or if you like, you can ‘let me loose’ on you design and use my creative ‘juices’ to create something for you. All I will need is you size and measurements and we are good to go!
Because I am a ‘country chick’ , I will need time to gather your fabrics from the city, and as some pieces have an upcycled factor, I will need to hunt for the perfect pieces for your design too, therefore a few weeks will need to be allowed for this as well as making it up, I will be in contact with you constantly to let you know how things are coming along.

Over the next few weeks I will be giving you a detailed look at each design including the price, so stay glued to my blog if you want more information for a particular piece you have fallen in love with.

There you have it….many, many months of hard work, all right here in front of you!
Do you like what you see??

What is life all about anyway??

Have you ever wondered why you are here?? I know I have and it has taken me many years to find out, but, I am confident that I know now!!

What is life about anyway?

Look at the way animals live….their whole day is consumed with searching for food, eating it, finding relationships or bonds with other like minded animals, procreating and raising their young and leaving their legacy and genes behind to continue on after they have gone – SIMPLE!!

Image

How simple life can be – eat, drink and be merry!!

Well then why do we complicate our lives so much?

We have obviously evolved to where we are today and able to use more of our brain for a reason, but have we lost sight of the bigger picture?  Maybe a little, but it isn’t hard to find our path again.

I am faced, everyday, with negativity, cruelty and sadness through the media and social media (and a little bit in real life) but is it happening more or is it just that we see more of it with all of these platforms we are addicted to?  It shouldn’t consume your life though, change who you are and make you think there is no hope for humanity, it should make you stronger, more compassionate and make you look for a way to start making a change for the better.  We have to start small and simple otherwise it is too big a task and we end up losing sight again, not to mention the danger of becoming a bitter person.

We need to stand together, not against each other, to make a difference, everybody has an opinion, because you don’t agree with it, doesn’t make it wrong, it makes that person interesting to get another view on the subject.

I am ALL for respect for our beautiful fur/feather/scale creatures we have been blessed to have on this earth, but I believe that it won’t be long before they have more rights than we do, it is our job to look after and protect them, but we need to also respect each other, our fights and arguments over subjects like this are not as powerful as our respect for each other and working together.

Protect our fur creatures by first respecting each other and teaching our children to be kind to animals

We just have to start in our own backyards, see the ‘light’ in people, people are what make up most of this world and we should be enjoying the vast differences in us all and learning from these differences (there is a fabulous woman who explains this here), Keep life simple and declutter the unnecessary, do what makes you happy, love deeply and without condition, be kind to every living being (no matter what they may have done to you) and just be the happiest you can be!

Dress the way that makes YOU happy (although Papa Clown doesn’t look too impressed hahahaha)

Image

Be kind to all walks of life no matter how they look

Love without condition (they didn’t know I was watching)

Be the happiest you can be and remember what is important in life

And what do I think my life purpose is….

To heal people mind, body and spirit, to bring happiness to people and make them see that the world is a beautiful place with beautiful people – we should learn from each person we come across, and to embrace how different we are to make up this colourful world and above all to LOVE LIFE !!

Please feel free to join this group.

It’s not all about fashion!

It’s not all about fashion!

A little while ago I was asked to do something special for a family who had lost their daughter/sister.

They still had quite a few items of her clothes and chose the most worn, by her, for me to make up into something they could cherish. They had done something special each year on her birthday to keep her memory alive and this year they turned to me and I was thrilled and honoured to be a part of their memory building.

This time it was not my own clothes mountain I was choosing from, and they came to me with a few t-shirts and a special zippered jumper in which she always wore and my imagination took off….

Wanting to use all of what I was given for the project, but wanting it to be something extra special, we chose to make the clothes into a teddy bear. I chose some faux fur that suited the colours of the clothes and after a lot of hesitation of actually cutting into these special clothes, I got started and once I was started, I couldn’t stop and ended up with this…..

Introducing “Courtney Bear”…..

It's not all about the fashion!

It's not all about the fashion! A very special bear

I chose some pictures on the t-shirts which I felt had great meaning and placed them on the foot pads – a butterfly for freedom and a “love life” logo with a heart, because she was a girl who lived life to its fullest.

The zippered jumper I used for the body attaching a tag with Courtney’s name on it to the zip and leaving the zip so it can still open.

A collar from the other t-shirt, a little skirt and some flower embellishments and headband used up the rest of the clothes but not before I could make a special little heart that sits inside the body behind the zip to symbolize that love never dies!

I fell in love with this little bear and the concept behind it and I know that she is cherished by her owners and will be a constant reminder of the beautiful daughter/sister that had fulfilled her life’s plan early, touched the hearts of the people she needed to and flew off to her next destination to continue her journey.

Thank you for letting me into your life and allowing me to create this special bear for you!
