Well, this is a first…..
A DIY from Obsessive Creative Designs
Make a cool top in literally 10 minutes with absolutely NO SEWING AT ALL!!!!!
Are you intrigued???? Well keep reading…….
Now, I know we all, as women, have days of looking in our overstuffed wardrobe and being uninspired which results in the mood of “I have nothing to wear”, and frankly, I think that is our right, am I right??
Well, now I am going to ask you to go searching in your Partner’s wardrobe……..
(You may want to ask first as to whether the item you have chosen is still worn or not hahahah)
Grab an oversized t shirt (the op shop is a great place to go for these too)
and after a few simple cuts, you will have a stylish new top, now just follow my lead and we will get started……
My t shirt is one of my own
I love the print on it and the colour, I just got bored of the shape
Lay out your tee flat and make the first cut from under one arm up to the shoulder on the opposite side
Cut off the other sleeve
Cut the shoulder seam
Next, measure from your shoulder to a spot under you bust and cut a straight line a few inches into the middle
Make a second cut a few inches down from the first
And then another a few inches down for a total of 3 cuts down one side
Cut up the side seam (I like to cut the seam right off) to open up the tee
Simple as THAT, It is DONE!!!
Now to tie it on to yourself
Tie the shoulder strap over one shoulder
Then simply tie the two other strips together down the side
And it is on your body ready to be styled up with something in your wardrobe
So, whatever you have planned for Easter, brunch, Easter egg hunt, bush picnic, you will be feeling fresh with a new top from your existing wardrobe (or should I say Hubby’s shhhhhh)
On Easter morning, throw on some lippy, spray a bit of dry shampoo in your “bed head” hair, put on a pair of jeans or a skirt and your new top and you are good to go!!
Here is how we styled our new tops…..
The girls styled their tops by themselves
And sitting out on our upcycled bed/chair and retro can chair with our handmade cushions I did last week, drinking tea in the garden on this beautiful Good Friday arfternoon with my family (the boys were there in the background) I feel totally blissful!!
Love Kirsty xx
